  • Trivia

  • Quotes

    • William: (to God) You never really meant to give any of us perfection. It simply comes down to the level of imperfection we allow to seep into our moments of fireworks. And if we can do that – if I can do that – let a little perfection into the imperfect, let that little bit of mess not destroy the beauty of my life, then I finally have what may be the closest thing to perfect I'll ever really know.

    • Davis Durham: (about Michelle and sobriety) If I can't do this for her, right now…
PK: Davis, you gotta do it for you.
Davis: It was. 21 great years, it was for me. At least that's what I thought. But that– that really isn't the only reason, is it? If we just do it for us, PK, how can we give anything to anybody else?

    • PK: I need a meeting.
William: You go to your meeting.
PK: That's right, I forgot: you do everything on your own. Gets you where you need to go.
William: Same old PK. You back in my life a day, and already nine miles up my ass. And you wonder where I've been.

    • (William has just reamed Davis out for relapsing.)
PK: A little hard on him.
William: (about Michelle) She's got 17 years without even taking an aspirin. And now, because of him–
      PK: Her choice.
      William: His doing!
PK: It's life on life's terms, William.
William: Will you stop with the slogans, PK? What he's doing–
PK: What he's doing is being an addict. He's behaving like an addict. And I know you don't like it, but you know what it's like.

    • William: (about Michelle's cancer) You still in treatment?
Michelle Durham: Uh, done that – chemo, radiation, frigging shark cartilage enemas. I'm done with all of it. (long pause) What happened to you, William? You just disappeared.
William: I don't know. I had some things I had to work out, I guess.
Michelle Durham: But you did relapse a few years ago? And you never reached out to anyone? You want to talk about it?
William: I'd rather have a shark cartilage enema.

    • (A strung-out Davis is struggling after the team re-captures him.)
William: (to PK) Grab my bag, the black bag, open it up.
Davis Durham: (rambling) …He knows exactly what I'm gonna say! He does, 'cause he wrote it. He knows what I'm gonna say tonight…
      (PK has found the bag.)
      William: Open it up.
PK: (looking at the array of drugs and syringes) Geez, William, who you trying to be, Marcus Welby? I didn't know pharmaceutical school was part of your calling.

    • (Swenton is restraining Davis.)
Arnie: We are going to spend a little bit of time together.
Davis Durham: Get off me you little leprechaun!
Arnie: Oh, I'm your lucky charm.

    • William: You two have always worked a tight program.
      Michelle: How's yours been?
      William: Um, a little looser.
Michelle: Yeah, I heard you hit a few bumps in the road.
      William: Define "bumps."
      Michelle: Your-tires-fell-off "bumps."

    • William: (speaking to God) Last night I was lying in bed… trying to count the perfect moments from my life. One time when the world aligned itself, and everything became clear and right. I don't think I've ever had a perfect moment. Hell, I'm not even sure they even exist.
