      • Rollo: Mama se, mama sa, mama coo-sah!

From the song "Wanna be Startin' Somethin'" by Michael Jackson on his "Thriller" album. It appears as a repeated chant near the end of the song.

      • Rollo: Let me at the white women!

This line is similar to one used in Blazing Saddles, when Clevon Little exclaims, "Hey, where are the white women at?"

      • Cleveland: Hi, hi, hi.

Cleveland's greeting and its inflection are a reference to Haywood's trademark greeting ("Hey, hey, hey!") in the 1976 television series What's Happening.

      • Cleveland: I'm going back to the island.

Cleveland's line, along with his name in a black background, is a reference to the popular series Lost.

      • Rallo: With the help of a farting warthog and a wisecracking meerkat...

Rallo is referencing the characters of Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King movie series and the animated T.V. series, Timon and Pumbaa.

      • The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The episode title is an allusion to the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
