    3.0
Episode three of the final six: Brenda is twisting in the wind, bending the rules and battling endless paperwork. She is teary eyed, shaky and off-balance the whole episode. Evil doctors are money-grubbing thieves. Evil lawyers are suing everybody. Evil drug company rep is cheating, selling salt water to children with leukemia.

David Gabriel is engaged and living with a newly graduated lawyer, who has apparently gotten off on the wrong foot with his parents and with Brenda.

Brenda's father is cancer free of thyroid cancer but feeling bad and Brenda is very worried about him.

Pope is expecting to be appointed to Chief, is very antagonistic toward Brenda and has sicced Raydor to watch Brenda.

We find out Raydor is married to a drunkard, gambler lawyer for twenty years but is separated, a Catholic thing.

But the first and now this third episode of the final six are so gloomy! I hope they lighten up for the last three episodes!moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Much ado is made over Dr. Parr not releasing the names of patients seen by the practice on the day of the murder. Ann Mason cites the federal government's Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to bolster Dr. Parr's refusal. In point of fact, HIPAA allows release of identifying information to police -- name, birth date, social security number and physical description among others -- for purposes of investigation. By claiming the patients present as suspects or material witnesses, Brenda could have done an end run around both of them with one of her patented creative truths.

    • We learn that Capt. Raydor married a lawyer who became a drunk and a gambler and has been separated from him for 20 years.

  • QUOTES (3)

    • (at the crime scene)
      Brenda: You're wearing a flower.
Gabriel: Oh, boutonniere. My grandmother pinned it on me this morning before we went to church.
Brenda: Oh, I'm sorry that we called you away from the services.
Provenza: Don't worry, they'll be open next Sunday too.

    • Provenza: You're dating a lawyer?
Gabriel: Who I met in church.
Provenza: That's supposed to make it better?

    • Capt. Raydor: You live together!
Gabriel: Uh, well, yeah. Four days ago, we decided to combine our resources but, ah, we've been dating for about a year now. You know, felt like it was time. I haven't told my family yet. I'd actually appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone around here knowing what people think about lawyers.
      Capt. Raydor: Married one myself.
      Gabriel: Really?
Capt. Raydor: Well, technically he was a lawyer. First he passed the bar, then he spent the next 10 years drinking at one 'til he gave that up for gambling.
Gabriel: So, what, are you divorced?
Capt. Raydor: Separated - for 20 years. It's all very Catholic.
