Brenda and her team look into a hit and run accident in which a teenage girl riding her motorbike was killed by a hit and run driver. The investigation soon uncovers that the crime was committed using the Police Commissioner's wife's car, which she reported stolen.
Brenda and Fritz again find themselves at odds when the chief suspect in a local murder turns out to be a man under FBI surveillance and suspected to be the lynchpin behind a multimillion dollar interstate burglary ring. Meanwhile, Brenda's parents arrive for a brief, spontaneous visit and come bearing not only gifts but life changing news.

The investigation focuses on Santa Jack McBride as well a stash of drugs and cash that were found at the Village.
morelessThe death of a high school principal who had been trying to raise test scores at his school to prevent it from being closed causes Brenda and Fritz to fight over who has control of the case because an already existing FBI investigation causes the cases to overlap.
Meanwhile, an underappreciated Capt. Raydor continues to document Major Crimes' every move. Worn down after two months of following them around, she begins to think about her role and its value to the LAPD.
The team investigates the mysterious death of a Sheriff's Deputy who, with his partner, was investigation a ring of car thieves. Meanwhile, a major decision is made in the civil suit against Brenda and the L.A.P.D.

Brenda and her team investigate what led to a father's disappearance, just as his daughter's single was about to rocket to the top of the charts. Brenda has an opportunity to make her lawsuit disappear by settling with the family who brought it against her, but the deal may not be as good as advertised.

Brenda and Gabriel visit an inmate who tells them that he has information about a drug cartel hit that is planned for the next day, but only gives Brenda a Case Number before he is murdered in jail. Despite Chief Pope's insistence that the case be handed over to the D.A.'s office, the team continues the investigation with the help of Capt. Raydor, who finds a creative way to help out.
Meanwhile Brenda's lawyer, Gavin Baker, re-interviews each team member in an effort to find the leak in the Division.

As a professional courtesy to a Detective from Phoenix, Brenda's team looks into the death of her daughter, who was working as a prostitute and was found dead in a hotel room from a heroin overdose. The mother is convinced that her daughter never did drugs and when the team digs deeper, they discover that a piece of information the Detective did not share may provide another motive for murder.
Meanwhile, Captain Raydor continues to seek information regarding the death of Turell Baylor and when she obtains a piece of evidence critical to the investigation, Brenda is left in a position of having to make Detective Sanchez available for another interview in exchange for the evidence. In the end, a dramatic conclusion is reached.

The squad deals with more suspects than they know what to do with when a body found under a partially-constructed retaining wall turns out to be that of a registered sex offender.
Meanwhile, Brenda's sticker shock over attorney fees means Fritz may have to give up some luxuries he holds dear.

The family of a prominent minister could find itself in big trouble when they withhold information from Major Crimes in the hopes of keeping the pastor's dark secret from church members.
Meanwhile, Brenda's efforts to keep the Turell Baylor lawsuit to herself end when the entire team, except for Gabriel, is subpoenaed by the plaintiff's lawyer who disguises himself as a process server. The fact that Gabriel was the only one not subpoenaed causes tension and infighting which could get in the way of solving the case.

The potential legal trouble for Brenda escalates as Captain Raydor's interview questions about the Turell Baylor murder intensify, along with a suggestion that Brenda does not like.
Meanwhile, the team's next case, that of a missing nine year old boy, hits very close to home for Lieutenant Tao because the missing boy goes to the summer camp where the Lieutenant's 16-year old son works. Because of the connection, he ends up as the lead investigator on the case.

Provenza recruits Flynn and Buzz to earn some "easy money" by serving papers for a lawyer who called him. Immediately after serving the man, who insists he's not the person they are looking for, he plummets to his death and lands on Buzz's car. When Fritz arrives on the scene, he informs everyone that the dead man was convicted of massive fraud and was awaiting sentencing. Suspicion soon falls on the dead man's wife, who had discovered that in addition to his criminal behavior, he was having an affair.

As they are leaving Chief Delk's memorial service, the team is called to investigate the death of a young lady who was house sitting for a vacationing family. Suspicion immediately falls on one of the dead girl's professors, a man with a history of inappropriate behavior with his students. As the team digs deeper, it turns out that the robbery is one of a series and has a connection to the son of the vacationing family.
Meanwhile, the fallout from the civil lawsuit continues as Captain Raydor is ordered to broaden her investigation and interview everyone on Brenda's team by Interim Police Chief Pope, who seems mostly interested in getting the job permanently.

Brenda and her squad investigate the shooting deaths of seven people at the home of rap record label owner Antwone Decker. When it turns out that one of the dead men was the label's #1 star and that he was shopping himself to other labels, suspicion immediately falls on Decker. Sergeant Gabriel, who knows two of the victims through his church, becomes incensed when the team assumes them to be gang members, a theory further supported by the find of $750,000 in the house.
Meanwhile, Chief Delk is preparing to announce his reorganization plans and Brenda's past actions are called into question when they are the focus of a lawsuit filed against the LAPD, Major Crimes and Brenda herself.
