Episode Summary

A familiar and non-violent gang of thieves, know as the Dear Jane Robbers, leave more questions than answers after a security guard is killed and they thieves depart in a barrage of automatic weapons fire. The most puzzling question is why this one crime did not fit their usual pattern. Brenda finds Fritz that has a wealth of information and is also showing an unusual amount interest in the crime. She and the team are shocked to discover the reason why.

Meanwhile, Brenda and Chief Pope find out if their chances ay becoming the next Chief of Police when the short list of candidates is released.

SPOILER ALERT!! After a bank robbery where a security guard is killed ends with both suspects killed, there are more questions then answers. Because of former robberies committed by members of the "Dear Jane" robbers the FBI is involved in Brenda's investigation and guess who one of the FBI agents is: Fritz. Additionally, just that morning Fritz had received his new assignment - promotion to FBI Liaison Officer to the LAPD. Chief Pope thinks the FBI knows something more regarding the Chief of Police position and they are promoting Fritz because of his relationship to Brenda. The short-list for Chief of Police is finally released...and Chief Pope is out and Brenda is still in the running.moreless
