  • Great episode with some humor

    9.0
Great Episode and who says you can't fit a 300+ pound man in the trunk of a car. The episode opens with the team responding to the location of the car belonging to the manager of a jewelry store who stole $3,000,000 in diamonds. They can't find the man until they open up the trunk and find his 300+ pound body dead and bloated. In a series of events, the evidence gets badly damaged, but the techs back at Police Headquarters find a receipt from a fast food joint in Oceanside, CA. The team does some investigating and come up with a video of him going through the drive through of the fast food joint. On the video along with the man is another man.

With the help of the dead man's wife and some investigating they find out that the other man is Keith Reyes, a transvestite that works on a cruise ship. DPC Johnson starts to interrogate him and he has the right answer for everything. When it looks like he is going to get away with it, Agent Fritz Howard brings in a newspaper clipping of a similar case that was unsolved and the only suspect was a woman that looked exactly like Reyes in drag.

This was a great episode with some humor especially when Sanchez was kissing Reyes in drag.moreless
  • I thought I had lost faith in this show

    9.5
I don't know what was with me, but I stopped watching "The Closer" last year before the mid-season 4 finale. I had lost interest I guess, and I didn't think the show was as interesting or enthralling as it once was.

This episode made me rethink the entire situation, and maybe I was just too lazy or ignorant to watch the show. This episode was very entertaining, and the performances are better than ever, and after 4 seasons, this show still continues to be fresh, funny, and fun.

Although one of the plot twists in this episode were predictable, it was still fun to watch. Another solid episode.moreless

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Brenda: Detective Sanchez, you do realize that you were kissing a possible murder suspect?
Sanchez: Yes, Ma'am. And she doesn't know enough Spanish to be from anywhere where they speak it. Unless she's really stupid. And she's not that stupid. Because she's into me.
      Brenda: Uh huh.

    • Brenda: My father almost died a week ago, so is it horrible of me to wish that he was on a cruise right now?
      Fritz: Yes.

    • (Brenda is about to interview Keith Reyes again.)
Sanchez: Chief if you're about to ask me to go in there with you, I'd like to request just one more day chained to my desk.

    • Fritz: You know what's beginning to bother me about all this?
      Brenda: What?
      Fritz: The fat jokes.
Brenda: Oh you're right. It's terrible. I am spending much too much time with Lieutenants Flynn and Provenza.

    • Clay: Do we know how this is gonna interact with my new medication?
Willie Rae: You better start worrying about how I'm gonna interact with your new medication.

    • Tao: We should take him back to the morgue and cut the car around him. Otherwise he might...
Flynn: What? Pop like a zit.

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Provenza: Hey Casanova, take it easy.

Giacomo Casanova was a Venetian adventurer who lived from April 2, 1725 to June 4, 1798. Casanova was a notorious womanizer and is regarded by some and the "world's greatest lover".

    • Brenda: Diamonds, computers, signs of a struggle, weapons of mass destruction, Jimmy Hoffa, anything.

This is an allusion to Jimmy Hoffa, who was the president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for 13 years (1958-1971). Hoffa disappeared on July 30, 1975, was never seen again, and is presumed dead. Brenda's comment is also tongue-in-cheek reference to all the theories about where Hoffa's body might be located.
