Episode Summary

While extraditing a prisoner on a flight, Lieutenants Flynn and Provenza connect with two flight attendants. When Provenza returns to his date's apartment, instead of romance he finds a dead body in the bathtub and lands Major Crimes in the middle of two of murders and a connection to a drug trafficking ring. The drug angle has the FBI, in the form of Fritz, trying to 'wheedle' in on the case.

Meanwhile, Brenda makes a career decision and ends up telling Chief Pope about it.

  • Flynn and Provenza - Brenda's 3 least favorite words to say to Chief Pope! But they are my 3 favorite words to hear! Loved this episode!! FUNNY!!

Leave it to Flynn & Provenza to muck up Brenda's run for Chief of Police! The two of them together with those flight attendants was absolutely hilarious! I loved the Viagra-like part especially. Watching him sit there with his hands & then the pillow over his "privates" left me laughing out loud! They are a hoot to watch and such scene stealers when they are together like that! I love this show!! Kyra Sedgwick gets more beautiful with each season!! I love it when Fritz and Brenda get to work on the same case and are not at odds with one another. Great show that just gets better and better each season.moreless
  • The Show is GOOD - the Camera work / editing is BAD.

    5.5
The Closer suffers from a common ailment - bad camera work - a trend that is contrary to reason.

Nauseating hand held shaky cam shots are awful on an 8 foot HDTV screen. The episode in question was fairly entertaining, if only listened to, like an old time radio show. But visually, it reeks.

Spending one's time staring off to one side to avoid the incessant jitter of the background is just not entertainment. I hope that the industry grows out of this fad of bad camera work before it completely destroys the audience base. Because I suspect that the continual drop in numbers is a reflection of the audience finding itself not amused, but annoyed.moreless
  • Flynn And Provenza Steal The Show

    10
Brilliant! OMG, this was the funniest show I've seen in forever - and it's a dramatic program. I was laughing literally from the first line on. I know the show has to be serious but I wish they would do more like this. One of the things I especially liked were the human moments between the guys towards the end - and the scene between Brenda and Fritz in their office. It's just so nice to see these people just 'being.' I also thought the guest stars did a really nice job and they really gave the regulars very good stuff to play off of.moreless
  • Provenza and Flynn on a date with flight attendants? Too funny...

    10
Every year I wait for these lighter shows and this one did not disappoint. The show started with Flynn and Provenza out and about with these two Texan girls. You're already a little suspicious because as cute as I find these guys, you know that something has to be up. Naturally, nobody else on the squad believes what Provenza believes - that these women are really, really into them - and of course it turns out that they really did have ulterior motives. But the way the whole thing plays out right up until the ending is so surprising and funny. Too, too good.moreless

    • Tao: Liver temperature's 93 degrees, placing time of death around 9:00 P.M.
      Flynn: That's good news.
      Brenda: Why?
Flynn: The girls came back here after our flight, but by 8:00 P.M., we were all out having dinner at Musso and Frank's.
Brenda: Yes, Lieutenant, it's always good news when suspects in a homicide can point to us for their alibi.

    • Pope: To be fair, Commander, your new office isn't really a cubicle, it's more like a super-cubicle.
      Taylor: It has no door!
Pope: Well, as you know, many layoffs are coming and hopefully when space opens up, we can find you an office more to your liking.
Taylor: Thank you, Chief. (leaves the office, walks by Brenda and turns to her) Thirty years on the force and I get a cubicle, a cubicle.

    • Pope: What's your case about anyway?
Brenda: Ah, well, before you get angry, last night, Lieutenants Flynn and Provenza...
Pope: Yep, already angry. What have they done this time?
