A wave of strong female leads has hit television over the past few years, and some of the best actresses in the business have gobbled them up. There have been a lot of familiar names in the best dramatic actress race recently, and that won't change much this year.
Contrary to popular belief, awards season is NOT over. Sure, the bald-headed gold statuettes have been handed out, those globes were distributed a ways back, and the Puppy Bowl already named its M.V.P., but it's time for the geeks to dish out some hardware via the annual Saturn Awards.

Tonight saw Hollywood welcome the red carpet of the Golden Globes, the Oscars' jealous little brother. The night is especially important for film (Oscar nominees are announced later this week, and a Globes win could sway Academy voters), but television also has a lot at stake with this ceremony the only major TV awards show until the late-summer Emmys.
The Screen Actors Guild took time out of its strike talk to release this year's nominees for its annual SAG Awards, and one would be hard pressed to find a shocker among the bunch. The usual names are all there, but we'll list them off for you anyway.
