  • Part I had me on edge of my seat, waiting for the conclusion in Part II. Kyra Sedgwick perfect for the role of a crackerjack closer. good script...until now.

    5.0
Have enjoyed this show as much for Brenda's fine skills as a closer as for it's mostly wholesome family viewing material. The very end of Til Death II was very disappointing. It makes me wonder why you had to add that and how much worse it has to get. Could there be pressure to mix vulgar innuendos into this otherwise fine script? It does not need semi-graphic sexual implications to be appealing. It's absolutely not necessary!!! Now I dread what you will think is okay to do next. Please keep the quality of this show to a high level. It's okay that it remain beyond reproach. Too much junk out there. Enough already.moreless

I enjoy the closer, I really wish I cane watch this show on my lab top and not on the tv. i wished that i knew how to work this program. i have to guess how to press watch on this thing. well any way big ups to brinda she's a real live closer lady. I like how Brinda solves her cases, she really gets right on the money. I never seen a lady detective like her before in this show. Especially with her acient. No one have ever made a show like this with this kind of acient and being the brings out of this.moreless
  • Don't know how Brenda does it but she does!

    8.6
Brenda Johnson is one of the best characters on tv. You don't know how she does it. But she is smart and really seems to know what she is doing. As she and the PHD are under scrutiny from the media and the DA's office. To solve this case in 48 hours. Or it will go flat after that. We don't know who is guilty or not. As we are given the impression of that person who is guilty, when in fact, they are innocent. Brenda also deals with Fritz's two DUI arrests. When the case wraps up in victory, we learn Flynn, has been in AA and been sober for ten years. Given Brenda some ideas about helping Fritz's alcoholism.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • This episode was nominated for the 2008 Prism Award for "Drama Episode".

    • As Kristin Schafer testifies against her husband, she states she went to visit Oliver Henry and was able to place the Versed in his drink by using her husband's cell phone from inside her purse to place a call to her attorney's home phone, giving her the opportunity to dose his drink when he left her alone to answer the phone. However, during the original investigation, Lt. Tao was clearly ordered by Brenda to get a dump on Oliver Henry's phones, and yet nothing was ever made of a call from Jonathan Schafer's cell phone to Oliver Henry's home on the night of the murder, which is odd given that Brenda had settled on Jonathan Schafer as her prime suspect yet had little direct evidence to support the charges.

    • In this episode we learn that Lt. Flynn is a recovering alcoholic with at least ten years of sobriety.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Flynn: (After divulging that he has been in AA for ten years) Well, you see, Chief, when I used to drink, I could be a little bit of an a**hole.
Provenza: Imagine that, if you can!

    • Provenza: (As Gabriel prepares to make a toast) Let's go. C'mon Sergeant. And don't hold back, we already know you're a suck-up!

    • Fritz: (following Brenda as she stomps around the house) Ok, I can't fix what I don't know is broken,
Brenda: You got two DUI's in one month five years ago and never told me about it. I had to find out while trying to get a multi-car discount from the insurance company, and I'm really upset.
      Fritz: I see.
Brenda: Do you have a drinking problem?
Fritz: I would if I were drinking.
(Brenda doesn't reply to his attempt at humor)
Fritz: I'm in...I joined...right after all of that, Alcoholics Anonymous and I am taking care of it, so I don't look at it as an active issue anymore.
Brenda: How could it not be an issue? You lied to me.
      Fritz: I lied?
Brenda: You told me you were allergic to alcohol, but the truth is, you're an alcoholic.
Fritz: I called it an allergy because that is how I think of it.
Brenda: How could you not tell me you were in AA?
Fritz: Do I have to look up the word 'anonymous' for you in the dictionary?

    • Brenda: I really miss chocolate.
