The show opens with a teaser of content from the show, which involves everything from the pensions to Anderson Cooper.
Stephen starts off by mentioning ABC's changes with their news department, having two anchors take over for Peter Jennings. Stephen pays the majority of the time covering Elizabeth Vargas since she's very attractive.
Stephen moves on to Verizon, which announced they will be freezing their pension programs. This brings us to tonight's edition of "The Word", which is "Backsies", the term for reneging on an agreement, and in this case, pensions. Stephen thinks the whole idea of pensions are crazy, and are terrible for companies.
Back from commercial, Stephen congratulates Tom DeLay for the recent announcement about the court dismissing a charge against him. This brings Stephen to "Better Know a District", which focuses on the eighth district of Virginia, which is home of Arlington National Cemetery, CIA Headquarters, and the Pentagon. Stephen travelled there to speak to Congressman Jim Moran. The interview starts off with Stephen trying to get the Congressman to take a swing at him, and then it moves to the war in Iraq. Stephen asks the Congressman about some incident, which causes the Congressman to take a swing at him.
Back from commercial, Stephen welcomes tonight's guest, Anderson Cooper. Their discussion was about Hurricane Katrina and shared tips on anchoring news.
Back from commercial, Stephen ends the show by warning people not to give anonymously - it's the coward's way out.
