Weekdays 11:30 PM on Comedy CentralIn Season
I was wondering which side he was on because I haven't been watching long and I know that he makes fun of democrats a lot but my friend says that he isn't a conservative so I was wondering?
I'm pretty sure in real life he's a Democrat. In the Report, he pretends to be a conservative who just happens to insist that everything the Republicans do is right.
According to wikipedia in real life he is a self-described Democrat.
Are you a Democrat? Listen, it's a secret ballot. Yeah, I'm a Democrat. I'm not asking anybody to vote for Democrats or Republicans. I say everyone should vote for both candidates -- except me. Just let me vote for Kerry. Then we'll be fine.
Colbert, whose office is adorned with a 1972 Richard Nixon campaign poster, admits to being a Democrat. But, he says, "I'm not someone with a particular political ax to grind. I'm a comedian. I love hypocrisy."
I went to see him in person and quote " I do not let my children see my show . It will confuse them as I'm a liberal playing a conservitve self bashing man. "
He is what ever his BKAD Guest isn't, if they are Republican, he's democrat, if they're democrat, he's republican.
He acts more Republican on the show always defending Bush and showing hatred of Hillary and Obama, but I'm guessing he is independent in real life. You cant belive Wikipedia, anyone can tamper with it. Including Hillary!
Trust me on this because I have an inside source. Colbert created a persona for the show--similar to that of the late great Jack Benny, G-d bless his soul, when he hosted his radio show back before our parents were born.
In real life, Colbert is likely leaning to the left. Most folks in comedy or Hollywood lean to the left. That's just the way it is. Capisce?
His character is based on that of Bill O'Reilly of FOX NEWS.
