      • Stephen: Tonight: The Catholic Church searches for life on other planets. Start typing Dan Brown. And then: The White House launches recovery.gov. It's the first non-porn website to use the words stimulus and jobs. And my guest Sherman Alexie is the Native American author of the book War Dances. Or as they call it, maize. Only 24 more shopping days to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. This is the Colbert Report.

      • Stephen: The point is folks, this may have been human error, but I'll tell you the real error: That I've been ignoring these fake districts, which brings me to the first installment of my (mumble) part series: Better Know A Made-Up District. Tonight's Connecticut's 42nd, the fighting 42nd! Connecticut's 42nd district is located in the middle of the River Styx and appears only once every hundred years. The 42nd is populated by a diverse mix of whites, black, Hispanics and Sleestacks. The districts largest city is Atlantis, whose controversial mayor Snuffleupagus made headlines recently thanks to a torrid affair with the elusive chupacabra. The 42nd has a proud tradition of unicorn breeding, celebrated at the annual Unicorn Rodeo where riders who can stay on a bucking unicorn for eight seconds, live forever. Notable residents of the 42nd including Norm's wife Vera, Charlie Brown's teacher and the Smoke Monster from Lost. And who has the secret sack to represent the 42nd? Why it's freshman Congressman Brad Pitt's character from Fight Club.
