    • NOTES (10)

      • The final episode, in which Fallon (Emma Samms) was abducted by a U.F.O., was the series highest rated episode, even though the series was canceled shortly thereafter.

      • Charlton Heston (Jason), John James (Jeff), Katherine Ross (Francesca), Emma Samms (Fallon), Maxwell Caulfield (Miles), Stephanie Beacham (Sable) & Tracy Scoggins (Monica) appeared in all 49 episodes of the series.

      • Two other cliffhangers were never resolved, even though the characters involved in those storylines would later appear in Dynasty or Dynasty: The Reunion. The first involved the apparent kidnapping of Monica's son, Scott, by Sable in the final episode. However, when both Sable and Monica crossed over to Dynasty, no mention was made of Monica's son, Scott. The second involved the fate of Miles' wife Channing and their unborn child, as Channing left Miles in the final episode and planned to have an abortion. However, when Miles re-appeared in Dynasty: The Reunion, there was no mention of Channing or the unborn child, as Miles was now single and engaged to his ex-wife Fallon.

      • One of the cliffhangers left up in the air was the fate of Jeff's mother Francesca. Although it appeared that Francesca had perished in the final episode after a car crash, a subtle mention was later made on Dynasty that provided a clue that she might have lived. In the last season of Dynasty, Jeff questioned Sable's honesty and asked if she was still bitter because his father (Jason, Sable's husband) ran off with his mother (Francesca, Sable's sister).

      • With the abrupt cancellation of the series, many of the storylines and cliffhangers in the final episode were not resolved- except one, the kidnapping of Fallon by a U.F.O. That plotline was resolved on Dynasty in the fall of 1987 when Fallon was found in the desert and subsequently remembered her "close encounter." However, as no one (except her brother Steven) believed her incredible story, the storyline was quickly dropped.

      • Three of the stars of The Colbys, John James (Jeff), Emma Samms (Fallon) and Maxwell Caulfield (Miles), would later reprise their roles in the 1991 TV-Movie, Dynasty: The Reunion. Additionally, the character of Jason Colby was mentioned (but not seen) in the reunion movie.

      • Two other castmembers of The Colbys, Stephanie Beacham (Sable) and Tracy Scoggins (Monica), would eventually join the cast of the parent series, Dynasty, as well. Beacham reprised her role as Sable in Dynasty Episode #199: "A Touch of Sable", while Scoggins reprised her role as Monica in Dynasty Episode #212: "The Son Also Rises".

      • After the cancellation of The Colbys, actors John James (Jeff) and Emma Samms (Fallon) rejoined the parent series, Dynasty, the following season, beginning with Dynasty Episode #176: "The Siege" (Part I).

      • This episode was the highest-rated episode of The Colbys, which is ironic, since the show was soon cancelled after this episode aired.

      • Claire Yarlett (Bliss) does not appear in this episode.
