      • This episode was the first sponsored network program to be telecast in color. It was, in fact, the only episode of the series ever done in color. The FCC gave special permission for this test of the new RCA/NBC compatible color system. (This differed from the other leading system, from CBS, that was not compatible with B&W sets.) The program was performed at the Colonial Theatre in Manhattan with hundreds of viewers watching in color in New York's Center Theatre. Note that this was not the first ever color broadcast. NBC had just completed the first public telecast of their system on August 30th with the kids' program Kukla, Fran and Ollie.
