Posting this email on behalf of Bill Wanstrom, publicist for The Collector's Ellen Dubin and Andrew Jackson, and CEO of the Timeless Destinations sci-fi/fantasy convention:
Hi Everyone:
Some of you may have not known but The Collector has been cancelled
& there will not be a 4th. season as it now stands. This was
announced on The Collector Yahoo fan site.
If you really believed that The Collector should survive then do
something about it. Get organized & save The Collector. It is too
late now to get CHUM to commit to a fourth season & get the
necessary Government funding for this year. But it not too late to
get the networks in the USA, UK & Germany to carry seasons 1, 2 & 3.
Right now Albania, Afghanistan, Australia, Belgium, Bahrain,
Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Croatia, Egypt, France, Hong Kong,
India, Iran, Iraq, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Latin
America, Lebanon, Macau, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Myanmar, Nepal,
Oman, Pakistan, People's Republic of China, Philippines, Portugal,
Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri
Lanka, Switzerland, Syria, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Vatican City,
Vietnam, United Arab Emirates, Yemen air The Collector.
Get organized and pester the hell out of USA, UK and German networks
that you think should carry The Collector. Get your friends in those
countries to go after their networks. If you have any friends in
countries airing The Collector get them to become vocal. Have them e-
mail this list. E-mail anywhere and keep e-mailing. Mail post cards!
Mail letters!
If the USA, UK & Germany were carrying the series and the demand &
popularity of the show increased then there would be funding to do
the 4th season.
Let's face it CHUM dropped The Collector because it wasn't as
popular with fans as it used to be or the series would still be
running for the 4th year.
How many of you thought the series had changed not for the better?
Why? Should Rob LaBelle, Colin Cunningham, Ellen Dubin & Andrew
Jackson, to name a few, have been used more? Since they have huge
fan bases then their fans would have supported The Collector. Let
the producers know your opinions. What would make the series better
& more appealing. Is there any lead that you don't think is strong?
However the key is to greatly expand the showing of the series into
new territories. Spread the word. Don't forget Star Trek was saved
by the fans when NBC cancelled it. Let's face it is the fans that
drive what advertisers support, network bosses support, what the
press writes about. Therefore fans of The Collector need to great
organized & become very vocal (stay polite).
You have two objectives. Tell the producers what you feel would make
the series better and get the show airing in the USA, UK & Germany.
It wouldn't hurt to tell CHUM that you don't support their decision
and you want the The Collector back.
Communicate! Organize! Communicate! Organize! Communicate! It is all
up to you.
As far as Timeless Destinations goes we will continue to support The
Collector. We look forward to the appearances of all the guests from
The Collector appearing at our charity Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Adventure,
Horror Convention next August. We will do our bit!!!!!! Will you?
