Casual viewers may wonder why the Commander seems to have had a makeover -- that's because there's about two years between the making of the first and second stories.
Here we see Scotland Yard on the trail of a serial killer who uses the Internet to murder hospital patients. Or at least that's what it seems like.
In fact there's a very cunning scheme underway. The Commander has to enlist the aid of her computer experts, who operate out of a secure location that looks like something out of the MI5 series SPOOKS.
The subplot about the deranged stalker seems gratuitous at first, but it ties in with the theme of the story - sisters.

The police are no closer to finding the blackmailer, and the family of one of his victims is demanding compensation for medical negligence. Brenda Thornton has escaped from the secure unit and continues stalking Commander Blake. Blake has further problems when she discovers her sister using cocaine.moreless
