  • Great Show!! Outstanding host, trainers, and fighters. This is a must see show. If you have never seen this show you are missing a super series!

This was my first time watching the show. I loved the show and I was on the edge of my seat during the entire fight. I could barely eat my dinner because I didn\'t want to miss a single punch thrown. Sugar Ray Leonard is a class act! He is a great host and mentor for the fighters. He treats them well and gives them great pep talks to keep them focused. The show represents a golden opportunity of a life time for these fighters. I have followed his entire boxing carear. The show represents him to a tee. K9 displayed a great deal of heart and a never say die attitude just like Sugar Ray displayed throughout his boxing carear. The show has me hooked! I can\'t wait until next week\'s show.moreless
  • The Contender is back!

In the season premiere, we get a new round of boxers. 15 new guys plus Jeff Fraza from last season who had to leave early before he got a chance to fight because he had chicken pox. It took a long time for this show to come back, since it was cancelled by it's original network. Thankfully it was picked up by ESPN.

In this episode, we get to meet the fighters, and then the fighters pick teams. There's the blue team and the gold team. Each week one member from each team will fight, and the loser will be sent home.

This week, K-9 fought Mike, a former champion. Mike wanted K-9 because he thought it would be an easy win, but then reality struck when K-9 won the fight and Mike left the show, with plans of retirement.

It was a good fight, but they should have shown more of the boxing match.moreless
