Not so much a "whodunit;" more of a "howdunit"

Usually, The Cosby Mysteries stuck to the traditional whodunit format, but "Big Brother is Watching" takes a step outside of the box to deliver a solid episode. There's still tension, even if it's of a different flavor. In this case, every time we expect Guy to nab Desmond Pierce, something else comes along to ruin the plan.

This episode reminded me a lot of Rear Window, especially the late 1990s Christopher Reeve remake (which, if I'm not mistaken, also involved a murderous art collector). There's good chemistry between Guy and Jeffrey. I can understand it must have been difficult for the writers to come up with murder-related plots that they could slip kids into, but I'm glad they did. Bill Cosby has always been able to play off of kids very well and this episode is no exception.moreless
