Cliff: This banister's broken.
Theo: Allright, I'll fix it.
Cliff: NO! I don't want you doing anything to it, it sees you coming with a hammer, it will get up and run away!

Clair (to Denise): Remember the bracelet you saw? You called me up and said, 'Get my money out of the bank, I need this bracelet'; and remember the fish in the aquarium?
Cliff: Yeah, COD and DOA.

Clair: You see, you're ready to plunge in and buy this car, just like you were with that bracelet, the waterbed, and the dead fish. And, at this point in your life, you can pretty much do whatever you please because you know in the back of your mind we're always there to bail you out. We're your safety net. You see, we're so good at it, half the time you don't even know we're doing it. Well, your father and I accept that responsibility because we're your parents. And, you'd better remember that, young lady. Because if you EVER take THIS attitude with us again, you can take whatever is in that bank account of yours and go DISCOVER America!
