The few missteps "The Cosby Show" made usually came when they attempted a "very special episode" of some sort. Often those episodes turned out to be somewhat preachy or dull. This was the exception.
The bulk of the episode featured Cliff giving a lecture to a group of high school boys about jobs, responsibility and taking care of the children their girlfriends were having. The scenes with the group were honestly entertaining, however, and seemed real -- like an actual conversation rather than something scripted.
A subplot with Cliff's father, Russell, babysitting for Olivia also helped lighten the episode with jokes about the kids not appreciating his old-fashioned games like Pick-Up Sticks and him not understanding their video games. A nice bit of comic relief.
Overall, a surprisingly solid episode.
