When Cliff and Clair have their big argument, Clair suggests that they sit down and write a list about what things the other person did or said to upset the other one. Yet in Clair's Sister, when her sister Sara read from a marriage advice book and mentioned that very method of problem solving, Clair and her mother, Carrie, laughed their heads off and called the author an idiot, saying that would never work. Why would she use a device she considers stupid?
Cliff: You can get in the car, drive at 80 miles an hour, backwards to Coney Island, run over the hot-dog vendor and the policeman on the way, and you won't be in any more trouble than you are now.
(Clair takes a phone call from Cliff, which interrupts an important meeting with a client. She apologizes to the man.)
Clair: I'm very sorry, but that was a call from my most important client.
Mr. Hanson: Yes, I always accept calls from my wife, too.
When Cliff calls Clair at work to makeup for their argument from the night before, he turns on tape player that plays John Coltrane's Dear Lord. Dear Lord was used earlier in Season 3's "Calling Doctor Huxtable", When Cliff, try's to get Clair to come up stairs and stop working.
