In an earlier episode, Cliff and Clair want to take care of the kids for a while so Elvin and Sondra can go out by themselves. Sondra agrees, but Elvin doesn't want to. How come all of a sudden Sondra won't let go?
This episode is proof positive that Rudy has her own private bedroom this year, since the girls tried to go to separate bedrooms after Clair let them use the bathroom. Why does she keep saying she's never had her own room?
The music during the cake-eating sequence of the last scene is the same music (by Grover Washington) which Theo played during the Smooth Contest in "Clair's Toe" from season 2.
Goof: At the beginning of the episode, Theo, Vanessa and Rudy all act as if they forgot Clair's birthday. But Rudy already had a present for her mother's birthday, the pendant she ordered in the episode, "Cyranoise de Bergington".
Theo says "the kiss just happened out of nowhere," but he kissed Jade twice. He makes it seem like it was one kiss. He doesn't bother to say "two times."
Sondra says that is intending to go to law school after backing out of it during the season four episode, "Call of the Wild".
This is the only episode that Anna refers to Dr. Huxtable as Cliff, instead of Heathcliff.
Clair says that in 1967, Sondra was three and Denise was one. This means that Sondra was twenty during the first season and Denise was eighteen. While it is possible for Sondra to have been twenty, it is not possible for Denise to be eighteen. In the first episode of season two, Denise starts her senior year of high school, making her about seventeen. Plus, in a season one episode, Lena Horne asks Denise how old she is and Denise replies, "Sixteen."
In Mrs. Huxtable Goes to Kindergarten, Clair bought new living room furninture and was going to give her old couch and chair to Sondra and Elvin, but in this episode their couch is a green leather loveseat, not the floral couch that used to be Cliff's.
Goof: When Cliff and Clair are talking about Rudy and their rules and mentioning the other children, Clair said that Sondra dropped out of law school. But at this point in the series, she has not yet attended law school as she announced in season 4's "Call of the Wild."
A bit nit-picky here. Rudy says that her friends have seen movies like Porky's, Porky's II, and Porky's Revenge and they tell her they're hilarious. What parents in their right minds would let 9 year old children watch R-rated movies like the Porky's series?
In the previous episode, Mrs. Huxtable Goes to Kindergarten, a major plot point is made about Clair buying new living room furniture and giving the old couch and chair to Sondra. But in this episode the old furniture is still there. What happened to the new couch?
(Editor's note: This episode was shown out of production order, so this may have just been a case of NBC switching episodes for no reason, rather than a continuity problem.)
Goof: In the beginning of the episode, at the far right top of the living room, you can see a boom mic hanging down.
When Mrs. Huxtable is debating the Great Depression with the other three panelists, one of the panelists was attempting to say that is was all a bunch of b-u-l-l. But when he spelt it out he said, "This is all a bunch of B-O-L-L". He clearly mispells the word bull.
When Clair gets back she tells the kids, "Let's get our coats," when she is already wearing hers. She should have just said, "Get your coats." Also, she said that they would tape the show, but no one set the vcr to do so.
After Clair leaves, the scenes with Cliff and the babies do not follow a script. Instead, Bill Cosby ad libs as the babies spit up, and one gets helplessly attracted to the bright studio lighting.
When Clair comes home from her first workout, she's too tired to hang up her coat on the hook and lets it drop on the floor. Cliff does the same thing during the season one episode, "Back to the Track, Jack".
During the season seven episode, "The Last Barbecue," the viewers learn that Sondra was in labor with the twins during this episode for eight and a half hours.
It's difficult to believe that Cliff wouldn't have known or suspected that Sondra was going to have twins being that he is an obstetrician gynecologist.
We learn during this epiode that Elvin's last name is Tibideaux.
