We later find out that the doorway to the far end of the bathroom is the main stairway...so they must have a room down there somewhere.
When Cliff wakes up from hearing Sondra and Denise blasting their stereo and runs to their room to shut it off, he runs down the hallway to his left, past the bathroom door, to get to their room. In later episodes, however, Sondra and Denise's room is depicted as being right next door to Cliff and Clair's room on the right side, across the hall from Theo's room. What happened to the extra bedroom?
Goof: When race ends and the kids are cheering, you can hear Denise call Cliff "Bill" instead of "Dad".
For guys who ran college track they sure don't receive the baton very well. Even I know the correct technique.
David Langston Smyrl later appears as Chester in "Mr. Quiet" and as Sam Lucas in recurring episodes of seasons two and three. Here, he portrays a noisy courtroom observer.
Once Clair finds out what the meal Cliff prepared was, she says she's going upstairs to get some of Theo's sandwich. Theo's sandwich has anchovies in it, and we later find out that Clair really hates anchovies.
In the court scene, Clair asks the mechanic about the engine's serial numbers and it is proved that had lied, Sondra asks, "What does all this mean?" How could Sondra not know what her mother's game plan was? Wouldn't she have told her as soon as she found out the serial number was fake? Maybe she wanted to keep Sondra in suspense.
Isn't it odd that Denise wanted Vanessa to improve her project, while Cliff was happy with her keeping the project the way it was? Cliff would normally be the one pushing his children to work harder, but not in this case.
Goof: As the scene in the kitchen changes from Rudy to her parents, back to Rudy, etc, the number of brussel sprouts on her plate go from three to one, then back to three again.
The scene where Clair puts the flower on Theo's lapel took numerous takes, according to Phylicia Rashad.
In "The Cosby Show: A Look Back" documentary, you can see some of these bloopers.
Theo is so independent that he has to hide his pierced ear from Cliff.
Towards the end of the show, when they're giving Cliff his Father's Day presents, watch Rudy. She is sitting on a chair behind the sofa towards the right. You can see Rudy pick her nose for a few seconds. After picking her nose, she wipes her fingers off on her pants!
Cliff says in the begining that he has the day off, but when the kids go shopping it shows him at work in his office.
It is daylight outside when Cliff and Clair are talking, but when he turns the lights off to try on his light-up Father's Day gifts, it gets pitch black in the room.
Goof: In the scene where Theo is talking to Cliff, Theo asks him to sign his history paper. However, Cliff gets so caught up on the fact that Theo received a B+, he doesn't even sign the paper. On top of that, Theo just walks off as if Cliff had indeed signed the paper.
If it is Thanksgiving, how come Cliff's parents aren't there? That just doesn't make any sense for them not to show up. Especially since Cliff is their only child.
In this episode, at the start, they zoom in on a professional building and specifically, Cliff's office. When they zoom in on the office it has a sign with Cliff's name on it and the address of the building. On the sign it says "Clifford Huxtable" but as stated in the show several times, Cliff's full name isn't "Clifford," it's "Heathcliff."
When Cliff and Theo are playing chess, Theo never starts the clock to start his turn he just moves and stops the clock.
Not only does the clarinet turn around on the table, but the mouthpiece is on backwards, with the reed side facing the key holes instead of the thumbrest, and it keeps switching from right way to wrong way. (When Cliff puts it on the table, it's thumbrest facing the camera, mouthpiece backwards; but a minute later, it's turned around to show keys facing the camera with the mouthpiece on the correct way; but when Vanessa goes to pick it up, it's back the other way, with the mouthpiece backwards again.)
If I'm not mistaken, Cliff goes up to Vanessa's room at one point, takes the clarinet out of Vanessa's hands and puts it on the table, "thumb rest side" to the camera. Next, it's blurry, but the keys are facing the camera, then the "thumb rest side again"! I know, for I used to play Bflat clarinet and now I play bass clarinet.
