If anyone feels like helping out with the guide, please feel free to do so. The guide primarily lacks quotes, so if you watch the show and have something to submit, please do so. If you become a frequent contributor, you may become a trusted user, allowing your submissions to be processed immediately.

    ---------------------------------

    From a previous post:

I'd like someone to visit this website from my bookmark list and scour the information they have for The Daily Show. Much of the information is in the way of video clips from the show. From what I remember (haven't visited the site in some time), the movies are in Quicktime format. Quicktime's drivers seem to conflict with some of my other drivers on my PC, so I've not had Quicktime installed on my PC in a long time. So if you can use the Quicktime software, please check out the site and see what you can come up with.

You should be able to generate a few hundred points through quotes, notes, trivia, allusions, and cast in those videos. I would recommend not slamming that site with too many downloads in one day - it may cause more bandwidth issues and we wouldn't want them to be removed, right?!

I'd recommend sticking to stuff from 2004-2006, because we don't have much for 2003 entered yet.

As the new editor for this guide, I would just like to reiterate what Jim said above. Both that website and the comedy central website (for recent episodes) have previous episodes online. One could easily get lots of points by added quotes, notes, trivia, allusions, etc.

Also, for episodes in the future, don't be scared to submit anything!

If you have any submission related questions, either send me a PM or post in this thread.

    thanks,
    mgreen789

hope you can help me out. I cant post a new message on the fourm! I use internet explorer and at the bottom of the screen it says page error but when I try again I get the error message saying you only have to click submit once. It's soooooo annoying! I'm able to quick reply to posts but not make my own. I've gone to the help page and I didn't see anything about this issue and I don't see a way to email the sites tech support. I hope someone can help cause I really want to participate. I just tried to PM the editor and It would not even let me do that! What's going on!!!???

Someone maybe copy this text and send it to the editor? Please!! Maybe he/she knows what the problem is.

Sorry again for going off topic.

What exactly is the problem? Are you trying to create a new thread, or a new post?

Daily Show Guide Contibution Format - edited January 6, 2009

---Episode Summary: First add guest name and what they are promoting if anything. Italicize what they are promoting, whether its a book or movie. Then enter a brief summary of each show segment. If possible, add the name of the segment they use on the show, put that in quotation marks. EXAMPLE:

    Segments:

    - Segment name and brief summary

    Guest:

Guest name and what they are promoting

---Cast & Crew: Add the names of any correspondent or guest that appeared or talked on the show, don't forget Jon. Also add the title of the correspondent like Senior Washington Correspondent.

---Trivia: Moment of Zen goes here, a brief sentence. In the past the MoZ was in the Notes section, but as of 2009, all new MOZ's will go in the trivia section. FORMAT:

    Moment of Zen: __________________

---Quotes: Name of speaker in bold, full names please, including Jon Stewart. Add context if necessary, this should go before the quote and on a separate line. Also, please say if its a video clip right after the speaker's name. Both of these should be italicized and in parentheses. EXAMPLE:

    (context if applicable)
John Bolton (video clip): The President has a responsibility to be true to the people who voted for him and to put people in office who are sympathetic to his positions, otherwise what's the point of having elections.
Jon Stewart: Now, Doris, this is something I also didn't realize historically about a democracy, the President is only the President of the people who voted for him. Apparently, the other people can dip their balls in lava for all he cares. Were you aware of that in terms of democratic theory?
Doris Kearns Goodwin: No...but you know I'll tell ya, by fostering arguments inside the official family, you question your assumptions, you sharpen your thinking, you consider different points of view, and your decisions are much more fully grounded. You know, perhaps my old friend Lyndon Johnson said it best, its better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out, then outside the tent pissing in.

---Allusions: Allusions most likely will be from the name of show segment

Any questions or concerns, please address them in this post. Thanks.
