Jon starts off the show by mentioning tonight's guest, Natalie Portman, and then makes a few silly jokes about the movie she's in.
Jon then gets into the news about Russ Feingold's bill to censure President Bush. Feeling there wouldn't be enough votes to censure the President, the Republicans called Feingold's bluff, allowing for the vote on the bill.
Jon then introduces a piece from Nate Corddry, who tries to re-enact the hunt Vice President Cheney went on. He travelled to a location where they do canned hunts, which is basically fake hunting, quite frankly. When Nate went to shoot the bird, he accidentally shot his sound guy. Nate rushed over to check on the crew member and went on to shoot him again.
Back from commercial, Jon focuses on Rick Sanchez, a CNN reporter who's put his life on the line for non-stories. His latest story was learning how to drive in a police chase. Jon's problem with this is he feels they stole the idea from a piece they did last week, featuring Ed Helms. They go on to show the piece, which of course, they didn't actually do last week. It features Ed in a foot pursuit, but he ends up getting injured.
Back from commercial, Jon welcomes tonight's guest, Natalie Portman. They talk about Natalie's new movie as well as her time in Germany, which is where part of the film was made.
