  • Indecision 2008 begins tonight!

Jon starts off the show by talking about Iraq. Apparently, they had to stop discussions about the new constitutions due to problems. No, not bombs, but a huge sandstorm.

Our space shuttle is coming back in a few days, leaving Americans feeling a mix of... apathy and disinterest. On Sunday, a Russian mini-submarine got trapped underwater in a bunch of tangled up fishing cables. The sub (which looks like a giant peppermint candy) held only three days left of oxygen for the crew so of course they had to get to work right away. The British rescue team leader was extremely excited about the successful rescue. Well, he said he was, anyway; he looked half-awake, and Jon couldn't help but do an exaggerated impression of him. Great stuff!

Senior Russian Maritime Correspondent, Ed Helms, is up next, offering his take on all of this. Russia was once feared, now their subs get caught in a freaking fishing net. That's the kind of thing that happens to sea turtles.

Discussing future elections can never begin too early, so it's time for the very first installment of Indecision 2008. Republican Mitt Romney has apparently switched his stance on the pill. Life begins not at concept nor at birth, but when you run for president. Jon mentions Bill Frist, George Pataki, and Hillary Clinton, but it all wasn't as funny as the stiff about Romney.

Well, the county's recently called upon more money than you could ever imagine to have new transportation projects. Among these include an American tobacco trail in North Carolina. "It starts at slaves and ends at cancer," Stewart says. That would've saved us millions, dammit!

Paul Rudd was up next. He brought Jon a signed book from Steve Carell. But, Steve didn't write the book... and he spelled Jon's name wrong. It wasn't too bad of an interview. The book gift was good for a laugh.moreless
