  • Jon speaks to former President Jimmy Carter.

Jon starts off the show by mentioning President Jimmy Carter is on tonight, and then he talked a little bit about Saddam Hussein's trial.

Jon starts off the news by talking about the Pentagon and the fact that they're paying writers to write positive stories in Iraq, much like the White House did when they did it here in the U.S. Jon ponders whether or not this ethical, and turns to White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan, and we get to see him saying "facts" over and over, in the typical Daily Show editing.

Jon moves on to a new topic, immigration reform, a topic President Bush is having a difficult time dealing with. For more on the President's immigration bill, Jon turns to Correspondent, Rob Corddry. Rob says that if we get kick out all of the illegal immigrants, we're going to miss them, since they do a lot of the more menial jobs. Rob shows a time-lapse of what his apartment will look like if his housekeeper is deported.

Back from commercial, Jon welcomes tonight's guest, President Jimmy Carter. They talk a little bit about the book and politics.

Back from commercial, Jon and President Carter discuss woodworking and the book.

The show was a bit shorter than usual since the interview was longer than usual, since President Carter is obviously a big "get" for The Daily Show. I enjoyed the show for the most part.moreless
