  • Very silly interview...

    8.3
Jon starts off tonight's show by talking about Tom Cruise, who said he's going to eat his baby's placenta, but as a joke. It seems that all of the interviews Tom Cruise does now involves him denying this silly joke.

Jon then gets right into the news, specifically the rape allegations at Duke. There is a possible issue of race and class, so it's certainly important. Fortunately, the national news media is there to cover it, but unfortunately they don't seem to know a damn thing.

Elsewhere, President Bush and the first lady, Laura Bush recently kicked off the Easter egg hunt on the White House lawn, and Jon has some fun with Laura Bush and the Easter bunny standing behind her. The event also featured gay and anti-gay activists. For more on this, Jon welcomes White House Correspondent, Samantha Bee, who says Katrina victims got top priority over the gay families who also wanted to meet with him. Samantha goes off on a little rant of sorts about the White House and the acceptance of gays, which ended in with a great line.

Back from commercial, Jon focuses on the big 1906 earthquake in San Francisco, California, which killed over 3,000 people. The fault which caused the 1906 quake is still active today, and it's really only a matter of time until another one hits the region.

Back from commercial, Jon welcomes tonight's guest, Ryan Nerz. Ryan and Jon have a very silly and light-hearted discussion on the "sport" of competitive eating, which is growing in popularity.

Tonight's episode was hit and miss for most of the part. I loved Jon's shots at the media, especially FOX News and their uncomfortable and absurd segway into another story. Samantha's commentary was a little over the top and unnecessary in my opinion. The best part was of course the punchline at the end. Jon's interview with Ryan Nerz was very silly; it's hard to describe it. I wish I could say I learned something from it, however.moreless
