Show Summary

The David Susskind Show that began on a local television station in New York City. Hosted by David Susskind, the show started as "Open End", because of the fact that each episode of the show never ended until all the guests ran out of anything to say. The show went to national syndication in 1961 and was limited to two hours. The show is famous for its interview with Martin Luther King, Jr. right before he gave his "I Have a Dream" speech. The show continued until 1986, six months before Susskind passed away.
