  • The story of four first year lawyers at a top law firm in LA and their trials and tribulations as they try to do the right thing for themselves and their careers despite the pressures of the attorney's they work for.moreless

    6.5
I really liked the characters and the actors who played them a lot, but in general despised the stories. This setup seemed somewhat extreme, but I guess it depends on who you work for, but let's face it this show is designed to create conflict. Generally first years or intern based people mostly get the grunt work and are just plain overworked. I don't think in most cases they end up making major judgments this early in their careers.

Liam, Addy, Beth, and Dylan all seem like intelligent, likable people. They are thrust into the machinations of this high powered law firm on their first days on the job. Unrealistic expectations are put upon them as if they are being tested to see if they will break down under the pressure. Only when they overcome the huge obstacles put in their way will they be shown any modicum of respect.

There are all sorts of maneuvers going on and you can see the former chief honcho and Dylan heading for a wreck. It seems that the Paralegal Katie has a thing for Dylan and she has been obviously sleeping with Cliff Huddle for a while now. From the way the episode ended we are about to see some conflict arise in this area.

Bottom line, this is looks like it's suppose to be a semi-comedic take on law firms aka Boston Legal without the star power of James Spader and William Shatner and based in LA instead of Boston. We are already seeing the power struggles and instead of lawyers trying to be partners we are seeing first year lawyer candidates being stepped upon.

Unfortunately this is not Boston Legal and we'll see what direction they choose to take this show in the next few episodes. This was not a really good start to this show. Hopefully it gets better fast. Thanks for reading...moreless
