I'm not sure if this is going to be a popular forum, but direct all comments about the series premiere of The Defenders to this thread.

I liked the premiere, very good chemistry between belushi and o'connell. and wasn't bored through the show which i usually get during hour long show,i came to this because of Jim Belushi and i hope this show has success and doesn't get underrated like According To Jim!!

    Pretty good.

    I just have 2 complains...

    1) They cannot curse, and saying "Oh my, son of a b..." or "go and tell that little bird go ffff.......ly into a wall" sucks....

    2) So...there was a chick being questioned...She was crying and bla bla bla. She said: "he was on his knees begging you" ( the dude was shoot in the back ). OK, first: if I'm gonna beg, I don't give my back. Second, if the victim was beggin, that means that he was closest to the door, so the shooter had to walk around the victim in order to shoot him in the back. So...I don't understand how the writters miss this.

I'll be watching...pretty entertaining...the last legal """drama""" that I saw was Boston Legal, so I'm hoping for a little more comedy.

    Cya.

This episode didn't stink, but it certainly didn't smell like a rose. I'll give it another couple of episodes before I decide whether to drop it.

Belushi and O'Connell are decent actors, but they didn't live up to their potential in this episode. But it is early days yet. This show could go either way at this point.

I like it, as a matter of fact it is one of the few new shows that I have liked so far, but looks like the stink patrol is out there to undermine it. It was funny, witty and interesting.

Not as bad I had thought it would be...Think they should definitely veer towards comedy and steer clear of being a legal drama

I was really impressed - this is probably my favorite pilot of the season.

The ratings were pretty good too: 12.09 million viewers with a 2.9/8 in the 18-49 demo. These are pretty respectable numbers, however, the demo is 30% down from last years premiere of CSI: NY, which occupied the same time slot last year.

Always nice to see Natalie Zea too, who, btw, seems to be in every new series

Who says Hollywood doesn't recycle the same actors over & over?

I didn't expect to like it but it was pretty good.

One thing that bothered me a bit was 52 mins in when Nick did his bold move. I just don't think people are that easily manipulated into the result that you want. I didn't try to figure out if I even thinkNick's behavior would likely produce those results. He could have just as easily worn a clown nose and said nothing and gotten the same results and we're not supposed to question it. That smacks of "According to Jim".

Another thing, relating to the same time in the show. It seems the most likely thing would be for the prosecutor to offer one year, simply to get a conviction under his belt, and it seems like the defendant couldn't have turned that down. I'm not sure if this should be enough to ruin an otherwise entertaining show, but it does bother me. If every episodewinds up usinga similarformula, then I'll lose interest.

I finally got around to watching this show.I guess i underestimated how i strongly dislike Jim Belushi and his type of comedy. They should just dish him and all will be right in this universe. A nicely written pilot otherwise the characters are a bit overboard though.
