Aired Weekdays 12:00 AM Jul 13, 1970 on ABC

Episode Recap

Dick welcomes Debbie Reynolds who disparages 'the films today' for their nudity and says she won't do them. Dick tells her she's obsessed with nakedness. Debbie plugs her new vaudeville act that's currently touring. She also talks about the movie studios selling their old props and costumes and how she's buying up these items and opening a Hollywood museum.

After a break, Dick attempts to introduce Sly and the Family Stone, who aren't ready. He stalls for a bit and eventually goes to another commercial. Once back, he talks tennis with legendary player Pancho Gonzales.

The Family Stone finally performs their hit 'Thank You (Falletinme Be Mice Elf Again)'. Sly Stone joins the other guests and Dick attempts to talk with him. He mumbles quite a bit and it's apparent that he is not totally there. Dick is persistent and we do eventually learn that Sly writes his songs while watching himself in a mirror.

Senator Harris and his wife come out to discuss their efforts on behalf of the American Indians. (She is a member of the Comanche tribe.) Sly joins the conversation and things again take a strange turn as Dick attempts to regain control.
