Once again we are witness to Dick Van Dyke's wonderful comedic style. He is subtle and quite human in his responses to his bruised self-esteem. Who hasn't at one time or another felt like Robert Petrie? Here DVD pulls it off flawlessly.
His hurt feelings slowly surfacing when he learns of the so called gifts and dinner invitations that Buddy has gotten from the big Boss, Alan Brady is wonderfully low key and lovely!
I love how this episode also, once again, show cases Dick Van Dyke's supreme talent as a mime as he portrays a man sick from a flu, but also sick from worry and doubt. I laugh out loud every time I see this episode.
Capped off with a heart warming ending! Smashing!
Simply wonderful acting!
