The Drew Carey Show

Season 5 Episode 25

Drew and Kate Boink

Aired Daily 9:00 PM May 10, 2000 on ABC

  • Trivia

    • When Kate tries to convince the guys in the "support group" that she really isn't a bad person, Oswald argues, "You left me at the altar." This is not really fair, because Oswald is partially to blame for throwing her a "surprise wedding" in "My Best Friend's Wedding." She did break his heart, but she had no intention of waiting until they got to the altar to break it off with him--they had not even set a wedding date at the time.

    • Jay really should not be in the "Been Dumped by Kate" club. He moved to Minnesota to start a Dairy Queen in "Break It Up, Break It Up," and didn't even ask her to come with him. She did say that she was breaking up with him, but only in a weak attempt to save face because he was leaving anyway.

  • Quotes

    • Mimi (telling Drew that she's pregnant): I've got a Carey clinging to my walls!

    • Mimi: I need a ride, fast!
Drew: Sure. Get your coat and I'll warm up the "Screw You" Mobile.

    • Drew (as Mimi describes her doctors' visits): God, I wish I was that dead cat in the middle of the road.

    • Mimi: That was the clinic on the phone. The power's out and the freezer's down. My little zygote only has 1 hour to be implanted!
Drew: What, does the Lord have to strike you dead? He doesn't want another one of you!

    • Lewis: Hey, Drew. I got this new perfume from Drug-Co. You might want to try it out on your date.
      Drew: No, it's okay...
      (Lewis sprays him with it.)
Drew: Damn it! Hey, that actually smells pretty good.
Lewis: I know. (Under his breath) I'm sure you won't be in the three percent.
      Drew: What?
      Lewis: Nothing.
      Drew: What three percent?
Lewis: Well, three percent of the test monkeys at DrugCo tried to eat their own genitals.
      Drew: Any NEGATIVE side effects?

  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • Lewis: You play a mean fiddle, boy...But give old Lewis his due. I'll bet a fiddle of gold against your soul 'cause I think I'm better than you!

Lewis quotes lines from "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by The Charles Daniels Band. Coincidentally, this same song was played in the season 2 episode "The Devil, You Say."
