Episode Summary

Drew and the Motorcycle
Kate warns the guys to return the life insurance money, but they insist they are only spending the profit and cannot get in trouble. Lewis and Oswald begin to panic when an insurance agent shows up at Drew's house, but she just asks them to sign some forms. She sees Drew on his motorcycle and finds him attractive. He claims to be Kyle, Drew's estranged brother. Drew and Julie begin dating, and he pretends to be a bad boy to impress her. They go to a biker bar, where Drew exchanges insults with the owner, Smelly Mary. She offers her approval, thus winning him the respect of everyone in the bar. Drew receives notice that his death certificate has been revoked, but decides that he wants to leave Drew dead and continue living as Kyle. Lewis and Oswald cut into the original insurance settlement to record an album. They turn to Drew for help, and he must sell his motorcycle. He returns to the biker bar and encounters Mimi. She explains that she heard about Drew's exploits from Smelly Mary, who was her tag-team wrestling partner in Mexico. She buys the bike with money from a tortilla chip endorsement deal she had in Mexico. After Julie learns that Drew is alive, he finally confesses his true identity. She says that they can't see each other any longer, as they are both boring and needed the excitement of the "Kyle" identity.moreless

  • The End of Kyle

The episode shows Drew now becoming Kyle, a motorcycle-riding tough guy. He catches the eye of his insurance agent who enjoys riding around with him on his bike and visiting biker bars. The best character of the episode is Lewis, as he has multiple funny lines throughout the episode. At one point he is about to knock out the insurance agent with a frying pan, but Drew stops him. Then Lewis attempts to knock out Drew, who stops him again. Eventually, Drew has to give up being Kyle and sell his motorcycle to get enough money to pay back the money that he, Lewis, and Oswald used with his insurance money for his fake death. Once the insurance agent finds out that Kyle is now Drew and the bike is gone, she breaks up with him.moreless
  • Drew is dead!

Drew, Lewis, and Oswald are in Drew's backyard standing around Drew's new motorcycle. Kate comes out and joins them. They're all talking about the money they spent. A woman (Julie) from the insurance company stops by because Lewis and Oswald didn't fill out all of the forms for Drew's death benefits. Drew introduces himself to the woman as Kyle, Drew's brother. She loves his motorcycle, and Drew offers to take her for a ride, and she is excited to go.

Drew and Julie arrive at a biker bar, and someone is getting into a fight. Drew doesn't want to go in, but he tries to convince Julie he's not scared. When Drew complains about his date's beer being flat, the bartender comes over with a straw, sticks it in the beer, and blows. This upsets Drew, and runs into a tough woman, who reminds him of Mimi a little. After they throw insults after one another, she buys him a beer.

Drew, Lewis, Oswald, and Kate arrive at Drew's work. Drew calls Mr. Wick out of his office, and he wants to be paid. Drew received a message saying that they've declared him alive. He decides to burn the certificate, but he can't get the lighter or matches to work. He then decides to rub two pencils together to start a fire, but couldn't get it to work.

Julie and Drew get back home, and they're all excited after they drove through the cemetary. Julie has decided to call her office and take tomorrow off. When Drew goes into the kitchen, Lewis and Oswald come in. Julie then comes in saying that the office received a letter reversing Drew's death. Lewis was going to kill her by hitting her with the drying pan. Julie leaves, and Drew tells Lewis and Oswald to return the insurance money. Lewis was getting ready to hit Drew in the back of the head with the frying pan.

It turns out that Lewis and Oswald made a CD together, so they can't get all of the money back. The only way to recoup the money is to sell Drew's motorcycle.

Drew walks into the biker bar to sell his motorcycle. They start bidding on the motorcycle, and then Lewis and Oswald come in and hike up the price too much. Mimi was sitting there the whole time, and offers him $7600 for the bike. They're still shy $400, and they want Lewis to sell his new watch, but refuses.

Julie walks into Drew's place, and tells him the good news about Drew being alive. Drew confesses to her that he's actually Drew and not Kyle. After finding out the truth, Julie decides to leave Drew.

The show ends by showing a commercial of Mimi wrestling and selling tortillas in Mexico.

This episode's idea was kind of silly. Usually, it's Lewis and Oswald that are scheming, not Drew so much. The scene where Lewis and Oswald show Drew the CD they made was hilarious.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • When Drew, Oswald and Lewis are listening to their album, Oswald says there is a B-side, but on a CD, there isn't a B-side, only a second track.

    • Bikers ride choppers, Harleys and Indian motorcycles, but Drew has a BMW motorcycle, straight off of the showroom. So he's not biker material.

    • Drew as Kyle tries to prove how daring he is by opening a beer bottle by slamming the top against the counter and ends up breaking the bottle in half. When this happens, Drew says, "Well, Kyle isn't getting his nickel back on that bottle." Ohio does not have a bottle deposit return program.
