Drew's Cousin
AIRED:
Drew hosts the family barbecue for all of the Carey cousins. Kristen, his 18-year-old cousin, comes to the event while looking at colleges. She plans to attend Cleveland State, and asks to stay with Drew until she can get a place at the dorm. He also gets her a temporary job at the store. Drew is horrified to discover that Kristen and Mr. Wick are secretly dating. He worries that the relationship will cause him problems with his family and at work. Kristen and Wick point out that they are both adults and are free to date whomever they choose. Wick confesses that he is in love with Kristen. Drew reluctantly agrees not to stand in their way, but is more than a little disgusted to find a pant-less Wick in his house the next morning. Wick overreacts when Kristen makes plans with two guys from Cleveland State. She becomes freaked out by his possessive behavior and dumps him. He tries to win her back by standing on Drew's pool table and playing Foreigner's "I Wanna Know What Love Is" on a boom box. Kristen calls her guy friends over to get rid of him. Drew convinces Wick to give up. Wick eludes Kristen's friends by sticking them on Drew, but Steve comes to Drew's rescue.moreless

  • Drew's cousin, Kristen comes to town.

    8.1
In the Drew's backyard, Drew's having a big party for all of his cousins. Lewis comes over and talks to one of Lewis' cousins. Inside, Drew is talking to Steve, who is cross dressing of course. Drew's cousin, Kristen comes in and Steve tells her about his cross dressing, which shocks her a bit. Kristen asks Drew if she can stay there while she waits for the college dorms to open. Steve comes back down after putting on a slip, and goes outside and announces his cross dressing to everyone.

Drew comes in to work and notices his desk has been re-arranged. He asks Mimi about it, and she reveals Kristen did it. Kristen comes in with a gift for Mimi, a troll set, dressed up as hippies from the 70's. Kristen asks Mr. Wick if he can fill out some paperwork for her college. Oswald comes in with a package for Mr. Wick. Drew runs back to his desk freaking out after seeing Mr. Wick and Kristen kissing.

At home, Drew's making dinner when there's a phone call. Mr. Wick wants to talk to him about Kristen, but Drew's not interested in talking. Kate, Lewis, and Oswald come in and ask about Mr. Wick and Kristen. Oswald doesn't seem to think it's a big deal. Kristen comes down, and when there's a knock at the door, Drew runs to the door. It's Mr. Wick who wants to speak to Drew about Kristen. He wants Drew's approval with the whole dating thing. Since there's not much Drew can do about it, he allows Kristen to go out with Mr. Wick.

The next morning, Drew comes into the kitchen, where Kristen is working on Drew's breakfast. Mr. Wick comes down, in his boxers, but he doesn't want Drew to see him. Drew does see him after seeing a reflection of him off the lid of a pan. Mr. Wick tries to come up with an excuse, but admits he had sex with Kristen last night.

Back from commercial, Drew goes after Mr. Wick with a fork. Mr. Wick walks over to the table and sits down. Mr. Wick comes right out and admits that they're in love. Drew can't believe what he's hearing, he doesn't want to tell his family about this sort of thing.

Kate and Oswald come into Drew's office. Mimi is apparently sending Drew's cousin a package. Oswald opens it and finds a stuffed bear, which ends up spraying out a blue fluid all over Mr. Wick when he comes out. Drew comes in and tells everyone about his plans for tonight. He plans on acting like he's all right with Kristen dating Mr. Wick, in hopes that Kristen will lose interest. Mrs. Louder comes in and scares off Kate, Oswald, and Mimi. She tells Drew to split Kristen and Mr. Wick up because Mr. Wick isn't the same man that she hired. He's acting very differently.

Lewis comes in Drew's house, but Drew's not home yet. Lewis answers the phone, and it's Kristen's mom, who's curious about how she's doing. Lewis answers the door when Mr. Wick shows up. Drew comes in and tells him it's time to talk to Mr. Wick about he and Kristen, who then comes downstairs. Kristen tells him that she has plans with some college kids, and when Mr. Wick overacts, Kristen breaks up with him. Drew celebrates by dancing and goes out to the backyard, where he finds Mr. Wick listening to music on the pool table. They go inside and Mr. Wick asks Drew to go get her so they can talk for one last time. There's then a knock at the door, two college guys ready to beat up some British guy who's been bothering Kristen. Mr. Wick uses a different accent and convinces them that Drew's the English guy, so they run after him and beat him. Mr. Wick walks out of the house with a smile on his face.

The show ends with the college guys being scared out of the house by Steve, dressed as a woman.

Although I didn't really like the general plot, they did a good job keeping it funny. The last major scene was great where Drew got beat up by the college guys.moreless
