Eat Drink Drew Woman
AIRED:
Winfred-Louder hires an efficiency expert, Christine, to look after the store while Mr. Wick is away. She is a very demanding taskmaster, but goes easy on Drew because she has a crush on him. Mimi and Nora try to convince him to date Christine so that she will ease up on the employees. Mimi gives him a check for $500 in exchange for sleeping with Christine. He refuses, but she leaves him the check and asks him to think about it. Drew agrees to a date with Christine. She explains that she is tough on the staff because she wants to increase productivity so that she won't have to lay off as many people. Drew and Christine discover that they have a lot in common, and end up sleeping together. She finds the check and believes that Drew only slept with her for the money. He tries to explain, but she threatens to fire him if he brings up the subject. He finally goes to her apartment on Thanksgiving, and leaves a message when she won't see him. He repeatedly talks about the fact that they had sex, unaware that she is dining with her family and the pastor from her church. They invite Drew to join them for dinner. He learns that he was the first man to date Christine since her divorce eight years earlier. He assures her that he does like her, and they continue to see each other. Meanwhile, Oswald and Lewis get some unexpected help completing construction on their house after getting into a car accident with a circus bus.moreless

  • The show introduces another poor character.

The show opens with Drew being surprised at work when he sees all of the changes to the office. Mimi tells him Mr. Wick is on vacation and the board brought in an efficiency expert to improve things. When Christine, the efficiency expert comes in, she introduces herself to Drew and the rest of the employees. She really lays down the law by saying that if you work as normal, you'll be fired, but if you work at a super-human speed with a paycut, you may keep your job.

The next morning, everyone is seen rushing into work. When Nora is one of the last in, Christine yells at her. Mimi tries to get her to relax, but it backfires, and Mimi almost loses her job. Drew walks into work, a bit late, but since he organized some reports for her, Christine rewards Drew by giving him a massage chair. On the other side of the office, Nora and Mimi talk about Christine and her attitude, and they decide to offer Drew $500 to sleep with her, thinking it will improve the way she treats everyone. Drew doesn't want anything to do with it, of course, but they put the check in his coat pocket and ask him to reconsider.

At the Warsaw, Lewis and Oswald are out of money and don't have a place to stay, so they ask Tim to let them stay there for a few more weeks, but he turns them down. Drew and Christine walk in and talk about work, and then they decide to go to the bowling alley.

We quickly cut to Drew and Christine in bed at Drew's. It seems the bowling alley didn't have any empty lanes for them to use. When Drew leaves to go downstairs, Christine finds the $500 check in Drew's coat, really pissing her off. Before Drew can get back upstairs, Christine has left already.

At work, Drew comes into work and finds out about Christine finding the check in his coat. When she threatens to fire Drew if he doesn't shut up, Drew walks out and yells at Mimi for setting him up for this.

We now catch up with Lewis, Oswald, Kate, and Steve, who are using the Buzz Beer truck to transport a load of lumber for their home, when a truck runs into them from the rear. The occupants turn out to be from a circus, so they decide to help Lewis and Oswald out by building the house in the park. Drew stops by and he's still sad about how things have gone with Christine. He ends up getting into a fight with one of the circus clowns.

Later that night, Drew visits Christine and tries to make up, but ends up getting fired. When Christine shuts the door, Drew calls her on the phone, but the answering machine picks it up, allowing everyone in the house to hear about Drew talking about having sex with Christine. Unfortunately, Christine isn't alone; she's got the whole family over, even a Reverend. Christine's mother makes Drew have dinner with them, but he ends up regretting staying. It seems Gerard, Christine's brother has a problem with white people and gives Drew a hard time. Christine and Drew walk away from the dinner table and have a quick discussion about how she's not willing to jeopardize her career by having a relationship with an employee.

We then quickly cut to Drew and Christine in bed. Drew tries to talk to her, but she's fallen asleep already.

The show ends with Mimi and the clown Drew beat up having a drink at the Warsaw. The funniest part of the scene is the fact that they're wearing the exact same costume.

The plot for tonight was somewhat interesting, although I really don't like the Christine character, or the actor, Wanda Sykes, for that matter. I thought the scene at Christine's in the second half of the episode was probably the funniest.moreless
