Episode Summary

My Best Friend's Wedding
Lewis brings Drew and Oswald together and gets them to patch things up. Kate tries to come up with a way to tell Oswald that she isn't in love with him and wants to call off the wedding. Drew insists that she must talk with Oswald face-to-face. Drew accompanies Kate to the couple's apartment to give her moral support and make sure she shares her feelings with Oswald. Just as she is about to break the news to him, Oswald's mother arrives. Kate decides to sneak out and stay with Drew for the time being. They arrive at his house to discover that Oswald has organized a surprise wedding. Kate is so afraid of humiliating Oswald that she decides to just go through with the marriage. Drew cannot change her mind. Lewis picks up on her doubts and tries to help break up the ceremony. When Lewis and Drew play catch with the ring, Oswald finally realizes that they are trying to protect him from bad news. Kate tells him that she doesn't want to get married. Oswald puts on a brave front, but warns Kate that his mother will kick her ass. However, Mrs. Harvey sympathizes with Kate's plight. Oswald goes on a disastrous honeymoon with Drew and Lewis.moreless

    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • When Drew and Kate come home they find a balloon that says "pop me." Drew picks up a pin and pops it
and finds a note. He gives it to Kate and she reads it: "Kate, look under the couch." At this point, Kate (Christa Miller) is standing on the right
side of Drew with Drew facing toward Kate. But when we cut to the next shot Kate is already at the couch on the left side of Drew bending over looking for another note. Plus, Drew has turned all the way around and is looking downward toward Kate.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • Lewis: Do you believe in magic cheese, Drew?

      • Daffy Duck: Qualifications? Why, I've got qualifications coming out the wazoo!
(he opens a carpetbag labeled "wazoo", pulls out items as he calls them out)
Daffy Duck: I have a MBA, a PhD, an EKG, a BLT,
        (eats BLT, Carey is disappointed)
Daffy Duck: a TNT, and a heaping load of TLC.
(Daffy pampers Drew - filing his nails, polishing his head, etc. - ends by lying on his lap and kissing him)
Daffy Duck: So what do you say?
Drew Carey: I say get off my L-A-P. You're one weird duck.
Daffy Duck: You ain't just whistling Dixie, fat boy!

      • Drew: And this is why we don't hire ducks.

      • Kim Harvey: Drew Allison Carey, you give that ring back!
Mimi (laughing): All three of his names are girls' names!

      • Kate: Thanks for understanding.
Oswald: I can afford to be dignified, because in about 30 seconds, my mom's gonna kick your ass.
