The Devil, You Say
AIRED:
Kate begins dating Jack, a guy that she met at the Warsaw. He interviews for a job at the store, and Drew is disturbed to learn that he thinks he is the devil. He has even taken out credit cards under the name "The Devil." Kate is certain that this is a joke, but soon discovers otherwise. When she tries to dump Jack, he claims that she has sold him her soul. Drew puts his own soul on the line and challenges Jack to a game of pool, but it doesn't go very well. Kate confronts Jack and says that he claims to be the devil because he is afraid that women will dump him if he acts like himself. He mocks her, so Drew prepares to beat him up. However, Jack loses interest when he learns that Kate lied about being a virgin. He leaves in disgust. Wick orders all of the staff to wear costumes for Halloween. Drew dresses as Mimi, who is outraged when he wears an outfit that she had already purchased.moreless

At the Warsaw, Oswald hands Lewis and Drew a beer, in a skull cup. They all talk about how they haven't come up with a Halloween advertising campaign for Buzz Beer. Kate comes in and they all talk about how they've all tried to go out with people there at the bar. It's generally the same people there every day. A new guy, Jack walks in and Kate notices him immediately. She makes his way over to him, and literally falls into his lap. The new guy's nickname is "The Devil", which they find a little odd.

At work, Mimi steals Drew's cup of coffee, and then hands him a new memo from Mr. Wick. Mr. Wick insists that everyone wear a costume for Halloween, an idea Drew hates. Mr. Wick walks in and shows off a costume he's thinking of wearing. Jack then stops by Drew's cubicle and asks for a job interview. During the interview, he insists that his real name is "The Devil."

At home, Drew, Oswald, and Lewis are playing pool. Kate then comes by saying how when she was out with Jack, she notices that her luck has changed. They then walk into Drew's house and talk about Jack. Kate insists that Jack's insistence of being The Devil is just a dark sense of humor.

At work, Kate is pouring coffee when she notices everyone else is all dressed up. After Drew comes in, dressed like Mimi, Mr. Wick comes in, followed by Chuck, who has a report on The Devil. Jack then comes in to take Kate out. Kate then decides to confront Jack on the whole Devil thing, but he insists that he truely is Satan. When Kate tries to break up with him, he insists that she made a verbal contract with him, so she's stuck with him. Drew decides to make a bet with him, to play nine-ball for Kate's soul.

At Drew's house, everyone is gathered around the pool table while Drew gets warmed up. The first game doesn't go so well, Drew never got a chance, so he decides to go double or nothing. The second game doesn't go so well either, so Lewis and Oswald try to distract him, to little effect. Kate then confronts him about being The Devil, and says the only way he could get a woman is because he's the Devil. Just as Jack is going to make the final shot, he mentions that Kate's a virgin. When they tell him that Kate isn't a virgin, it upsets Jack and agrees to give her soul back.

The show ends with Drew, dressed as Mimi, trading candy with trick-or-treaters, taking their chocolate, and giving them tuna fish and an exercise tape. Mimi then stops by and smashes an egg on Drew's face.

I enjoyed this episode quite a bit. The whole "Devil" plot was bizarre, but the last scene was pretty funny.moreless
