Instead of starting off with a part of the show, it starts off with the full version of the Five O'Clock World production, which would be used, in part, in the beginning of future episode openings.
When Drew comes into work, he and Mimi show off all of the pranks they have played on one another. There were several hilarious little pranks they pulled on one another, including gluing Mimi's feet to the floor tiles.
Kate comes over to see Drew and compliments him, since it's employee evaluation day. Mimi comes over and grabs the employee evaluations, and finds that his evaluation of Lisa is surprisingly critical. Lisa comes by and talks to Drew about some things. She gets a little curious when he tells her that Drew is going clothes shopping with Kate, as she gives him advice on what to buy. After she leaves, Drew walks over to the coffee maker when Larry walks by and offers him muffins. Mimi announces that management has the evaluations, so there's no need to suck up to Drew anymore. Larry quickly tries to take back the the muffins, but gets into a tug of war with Drew over them.
At home, Drew doesn't want to come down and show off his new pants, as there's a problem. He says they wrinkle weird. When he's asked by his friends to sit down, the front of his pants tent up, like he's got an erection. Lisa comes by with the results of the evaluation. She's gets even more upset when Drew sits down and sees what Drew likes most about her. Kate, Jay, Lewis, and Oswald come in to see how things went. Drew figures that Mimi was responsible for Lisa getting her evaluation early.
At work, Drew is working with Chuck to set up Mimi with more pranks. Oswald stops by with Drew's gifts for Lisa, as she's not accepting his gifts. Lisa then stops by, so Drew apologizes for how he judged her for the evaluation. Drew finds out that Mimi didn't give Lisa her evaluation, so he has to stop the prank, but Mimi comes right in. Drew does his best from Mimi getting injured by any of the pranks he's set up, but he wasn't able to stop the insult man or keep the troll dolls from exploding.
At home, Lewis, Oswald, Kate, and Jay join Drew to talk about Lisa. He's a little concerned that she might leave him. There's then a knock at the back door. Lisa drops off all of Drew's things that he left at her place. Drew suggests that they move in together, and not break up. She loves the idea, so they run up to the bedroom.
The show ends with Drew being lowered, Mission: Impossible-style over Mimi's desk. He's checking for lasers when Mimi comes out of Mr. Bell's office with bolt cutters in her hands, threatening to cut the cord he's hanging from, so Drew asks Lewis to pull him up.
For a season opener, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I was pleased to see the full version of the Five O'Clock World production. You can tell they had fun with that, and I enjoyed watching it. This episode was chock-full of pranks for Drew and Mimi to pull on one another.moreless
