    • TRIVIA (1)

      • The Black Spot, Capt. Billy Bones, the apple barrel and all the well known story elements come to life, including a parrot (who amazingly stays put on Long John Silvers shoulder throughout the entire show!) The sets are remarkable and complex; the sailing ship, the Admiral Benbow Inn, the Stockade on the island and more. Even the first Dupont commercial is a live production that must have had a budget larger than many shows then on the air. A rip-roaring adventure yarn that could have been improved only by giving Boris Karloff a larger role than the drunken old pirate, Billy Bones, soon to be given "The Black Spot."
