  • Smart and funny pilot

I loved loved loved loved loved this show. It is a brilliant concept which is beautifully realized through the passionate and flawed Eastman family. The pilot is witty and compelling and the actors are fabulous---each is perfectly cast and makes me want to know more about their individual storylines. Loved the setting of the hospital - which will, hopefully, make me miss E.R. a little less and enjoyed the banter between Sutherland and Bisset, who have a great deal of chemistry in their cantankerous relationship (Also loved her as a cougar). Overall, a terrific show which---hopefully---will be around for a long long time!!!moreless

I was in a test audience for this show and I wanted to be the first to blog about it. With ER disappearing, I was worried there wouldn't be another wonderful medical procedural show....and with THE EASTMANS on the horizon, I KNOW that I won't be disappointed. The cast is marvelous. Donald Sutherland is hysterical as the curmudgeonly patriarch of this severely dysfunctional family. The incredibly beautiful cast of kids are universally talented and I can't wait to see in which direction each of their storylines go. Even the bit parts are well cast and believable to round out a marvelous ensemble. This is a smart, exciting and incredibly engaging show which, I hope, will be around for a long long time!moreless

Scrubs' Dr. Cox diagnosed for new drama

There aren't many surprise castings in television these days, as actors are usually pigeon-holed into "hunky doctor/cop/lawyer," "goofy single-dads," and "creepy sex offenders/Ben Linus" types. So kudos to Scrubs' John C. McGinley for pulling a Bryan Cranston and moving…
