      • 'paxmaker' submitted the following:
My good friend Bill Jacques was the musical director of the Archdiocese of New York Choir that performed on this show. Bill, an accompolished pianist and songwiter, wrote the music for the musical comedy "When in Rome" in 1958 for the Applesauce Society of Holy Cross College in Worcester. This musical, directed by Tom Giles and lyricist Bill Cooney was widely praised in the Worcester Telegram as a great piece of musical theater for a college group and predicted great things for Jacques. The play was reprised at the 50th reunion of the class of 1959 in June, pieces of which can be viewed on the Holy Cross College alumni web site, performed by guys who had gone on to notable careers of their own. Jacques has had a major league music career and has a very nice CD of his lilting melodies produced while he was directing the music program at the renowned Christian's Restaurant on Cape Cod. It is called "Side by Side" along with Bruce Abbott on the reeds. If you are interested in purchasing a copy (if they are still available), contact Bill at wmjacques@msn.com Oh by the way, I am an original cast member of When in Rome, going by the moniker of Portfirio Coolus.
