--Opening credits with sponsor plugs

--Ed Sullivan begins to announce this week's guests. He is interrupted by the Pompoff Thedy family (comedy trio, vaudeville comedians) who show Ed some magic tricks.

Commercial: (1) Pillsbury Butter Rolls with the Pillsbury dough boy. (2) Pillsbury Rolls and Chocolate Chip cookies (both ads in black & white)

--Ed appears with three Boy Scouts (in celebration of the Boy Scouts' Golden Anniversary). The Scouts recite the scout oath.



--The Animals - "We Gotta Get Out of This Place"

--Pompoff and Thedy again interrupt Ed.

--Audience bows: Italian ambassador to the US & council general

--Peter Gennaro & 6 women - dances to "I Got Rhythm"

Commercial: Brisk Lipton Tea (with young adults at ski resort)

--Gino Tonetti - sings "Al Di La"

--Deli skit with Nancy Walker, Charles Nelson Reilly and Julia Meade. A couple tries to discretely meet at a deli but are pestered by the owner.

Commercial: (1) Pillsbury Hungry Jack and Extra Lights Pancake Mix (begins in B&W then turns to color) (2) Pillsbury Chill Pies cake mix

--Alan King (comedian) - monologue about insurance companies

--Audience Bow: Jack Adams (Canada's Mr. Hockey, winner of the 1st Lester Patrick trophy)

--Commercials: (1) Dristan (2) BiSoDol (for upset stomachs) both ads in B&W



--The Animals - "Inside Looking Out"

--On film: a clip from "Made In Paris" with Ann-Margaret and Louis Jordan viewing a fashion show.
