Tributes to Ed:
--Ethel Merman, Shelley Winters, Ruth Gordon and Sam Levy sing "Sullivan for Me."
--Louis Armstrong - surprises Ed and sings "Happy Birthday."
--In Hollywood: Ronald Reagan, Natalie Wood, Robert Walker, Walt Disney, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz sing "Happy Anniversary" in a tribute to Sullivan.
--In Chicago, Phil Silvers with the Sgt. Bilko cast sing a tribute to Ed.
Musical guests:
--Harry Belafonte - "Take My Mother Home" and "Jamaica Farewell."
--Kate Smith sings a medley of "I'm Gonna Live Till I Die," "I Hear a Rhapsody" and "I've Got the World On a String."
--Teresa Brewer sings a medley of "Music! Music! Music!" "Till I Waltz Again With You," "Ricochet" and "A Sweet Old Fashioned Girl."
Also appearing:
--Jack Paar (TV comedian) - pokes fun at mail order companies.
--Klauson's Bears (trained animal act) - bear rides bike.
