Notice throughout the song, "I Feel Fine" (except at the very end), John is botching the lyrics
During "Help!" notice that John Lennon completely forgets the words to the second verse and starts singing the first verse again. This clashes with the backing vocals which John's lyrics are supposed to echo. (Notice Paul is smiling.) He eventually gets back on track.
This was the final black & white episode of "The Ed Sullivan Show."
