For some reason this episode seemed "off" to me. Nothing seemed to jive, and even the frequently funny Julie seemed to be off her mark. Guess it was the weekend crew for the writers.

The games were mildly interesting, but there wasn't anything big to mention about any of them. Add that to the fact that they were all sequels (save for Marvel Nemesis), and most of them one had already been reviewed for the console or PC versions. And even though he was funny, most viewers may not have recognized Jason Issacs out of his silver wigged costume (He's Malfoy's pap in the Harry Potter movies). Need some sort of intro for those people who play games 24-7-365. And the New Avengers? Why go mainstream and interview a "relaunch title" that is obviously just another in a long line of money-making stunts by Marvel? Even Vic and Julie seemed a bit bored during the host segments. Where was the brief witty patter?

The good of the episode was getting some (read "little") info on the latest Matrix title. And seeing the updated info on Sims 2 for the consoles, which was already released by the time the episode aired. And it was fun to see Geoff as a computer generated figure in that new Karaoke game. But the episode was too dry for me.

In all, I wasn't too happy in watching this episode. But I'm sure that's rooted in the fact that the games covered didn't interest me and I do like a little bit of humour in my episodes.moreless
