  • Not as good as previous coverage.

When the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) comes around, the video game world is watching. The Electronic Playground usually devotes an entire episode to coverage of this event. While previous episodes have been excellent, this one seemed to be lacking.

The only cast members were Victor and Tommy, unlike the previous episode that all the cast was involved with. Also, there were little interviews and way too much video game trailer clips shown - the same stuff shown everywhere else. EP is not only about promoting the games, but also about showing us the creators and developers behind the games. And while E3 is tough to wrap up in just a 24 minute block, this episode seemed to highlight the wrong stuff.

A previous season highlight of E3 contained little coverage of the press events and highlighted the interviews with the game makers. This one did the opposite. It showed the same footage we all saw from the event and there wasn't much new material.

The best part of the show was at the end. Vic and Tommy talked about what they liked and what they didn't like about E3. In all the episode could have added a bit more flavor with the other co-hosts working the floor. Problem was that Geoff was covering footage for G4 and Jade was probably working to promote her own game Assassin's Creed - so you can't really blame EP too much on that coverage. But where was Julie?

I guess you could argue that I had E3 overload in watching it from where ever I could, but at the same time EP could have given us some more behind-the-scenes footage that they are so well known for.moreless
