This is by far the best episode for a while, with a return to the dark and edgy mood of the earliest stories in the series.
Whereas some episodes suffer slightly from sharing two plots, this one shows how it should be done. They run along beside each other, each with ample screen time and not squashing the other one out of the picture.
[Sort of spoiler] The thing I really like about this story is what I saw as the red herring running though it. The serial killer's face is not shown until late on in the episode; was I alone in expecting the killer to turn out to be the man who is harassing young actress Sally Ann? I found it a real (but welcome) surprise when it turned out not to be him at all! [End of sort of spoiler]
I found the episode to be well written and well acted, and a very good watch. Probably one of the best instalments down this end of the season.moreless
