I am enjoying this series still and looking forward to the next episode. In this episode we get a glimpse into why Leila's family are really involved in this. As Leila and Sean hunt for Leila's sister, they are lead to a mysterious hospital, where the abducted girls are being experimented on. Although we don't know why. There they find the girls have been moved and that those people have tried to destroy the evidence. But Sean and Leila find a file there about Leila's father.

At the same time as all this the President has to deal with Thomas, who has now turned on his mother and is following an agenda of his own. We are lead to believe he will nuke the US, as he has had a rocket built in Asia, we are really pushed into thinking this when he says to his girlfriend you do know millions of people will die, but in the end it turns out to be a communications satellite that sends just one signal before exploding. That message is - "we are ready for your arrival".moreless
  • Sean and Leila continue searching for her sister while the President and Blake Sterling are forced to deal with a new problem.

You know how people say once you see something, you can't unsee it? Well, after reading about twenty articles critiquing the acting of the character Leila, all I can see now is her awkward and forced acting. And I must say, it turns me off a bit from the show and her plot. However, for a show that's quickly going down the tubes (not necessarily with me, but rating-wise...), the fall finale was a fine example. It had an intriguing cliffhanger, some interesting moments, but really... does any of it really matter? There's no way this show's getting picked up again next year, and if it does, I'll be impressed.

Anyways, most of the episode is split between the usual: Sean and Leila head to a place called Willowbrook, a psych hospital that they believe Leila's sister is hidden at. At the White House, Blake Sterling informs President Martinez that a missile is being launched by the EBE's and that they believe it to be a nuclear missile. There isn't much action and most of the tense moments are pretty predictable, but the episode had at least some sense of urgency, and by the time we go to the end, we got a couple of surprises that kept me from feeling as if I'm wasting my time.

We learn that Leila's father is likely an alien who arrived on the planet with Sophia, Thomas and the rest of the EBE's. This raises a ton of questions, all of which could be a game-changer not just for the characters of Sean and Leila but the show as a whole. Also, we learn that the missile that Sterling and Martinez were so worried about is actually a communication satellite that is transmitting a message to somewhere far out in space; this is another event that could greatly affect the show.

The fall finale was pretty good, but it's going to have a lot of ground to make up when it comes back in about three months. There's not going to be much interest in the show, so the campaign for it must be huge to raise the ratings. It's too bad.. the show has so much potential.moreless
  • Everything Will Change

    8.5
Everything Will Change was a great episode of The Event. I enjoyed the suspense, action, intrigue, and surprises! We learned a lot more about a few characters, and some truths have been revealed. I like how the writers interweave all of story lines and keep things moving in an entertaining way. It was interesting to see Thomas and Isabel had plans of their own, but not what you expected. Leila and Sean find some very interesting evidence in the hostpital wing where her sister was being captured. The President had many important things to deal with, as did Sophia since Thomas and Isabel lied to her and hatched a secret scheme. I wonder what will come of it. I can't wait to find out what happens next with these scenarios!!!!!!!moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • According to the list of patients that Leila looks at in the psychiatric hospital, Carolyn Jones is listed as a 21-year-old male - as opposed to the older woman that is shown subsequently.

  • QUOTES (1)

    • Martinez: You're threatening me?
Jarvis: You know, I'm not as smooth as you. I don't have an Ivy League diploma or the charm that got you where you are, but I will give you a piece of advice anyway... as your elder. You think you're at the top of this game? The truth is you're just as much a bit player as I am. Vulnerable to any number of people who have the power, the money, and the will to take you down. Well, I'm not going down. I am the Vice President of the United States, and that's the way it's going to stay.
